The Insurance Federation of Pennsylvania is a non-profit trade association that enjoys a proud history of accomplishment representing companies from all segments of the industry. Our members are large and small, domestic and foreign, and represent over half of the premium volume written in Pennsylvania.
The Insurance Federation’s advocacy on behalf of its members focuses on legislative and regulatory matters. The Federation also plays an active role in litigation and other forums where the industry’s interests are implicated.
With a well-earned reputation for integrity in the pursuit of member company interests, we provide a unified industry voice in a constantly changing political environment.
We work with the Pennsylvania General Assembly to develop and advance a pro-insurance policy agenda.
Together with our regulators, we foster a robust and competitive insurance marketplace to better serve policyholders.
In judicial forums, we engage in litigation impacting our members and their business interests.
Jonathan Greer heads the Insurance Federation as its President and CEO, a position he assumed in 2022 following nearly twenty years with the organization. Prior to joining the Federation in 2003, Jonathan served as Director of Policy and Legislative Affairs at the Pennsylvania Insurance Department and, before that, as legislative staff for the Senate of Pennsylvania.
Jonathan is a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College and earned his master’s degree in government from the University of Pennsylvania.
Jonathan lives in New Cumberland, PA. with his wife and daughter. Outside of work, he enjoys reading non-fiction, repeated attempts to lower his golf handicap, and listening to the music of the Beatles.
Noah Karn joined the Insurance Federation in 2018 after working in both chambers of the state General Assembly. Prior to joining the Federation, Noah served as a Chief of Staff in the Pennsylvania Senate. He has also served as a top aide to the Speaker of the House and as Executive Director of the House Labor & Industry Committee.
Noah is a graduate of Penn State University and earned his master’s degree in public policy from Northwestern University.
He lives in Enola, PA. with his fiancé and enjoys traveling and competitive amateur golf.
Tim Knapp joined the Insurance Federation in 2022 as General Counsel after serving twenty years as counsel for the Allstate Insurance Company. Prior to his work with Allstate, Tim served as a Deputy Insurance Commissioner at the Pennsylvania Insurance Department.
Tim is a graduate of Yale University and the American University School of Law.
He lives in Lebanon, PA. with his wife and has two grown children. In his personal time, he enjoys reading, traveling, and following the Cincinnati Reds.
The Insurance Federation’s longest-serving employee, Marybeth Dob joined the Insurance Federation in 1984 and serves as its Treasurer. Marybeth also oversees the daily administrative operations of the Insurance Federation and PIPAC.
Marybeth is a graduate of Rosemont College, has 3 grown children and 2 grandchildren.
Lisa Kuntz joined the Insurance Federation in 2002 as an executive assistant and receptionist for the Harrisburg office staff. Since that time, Lisa has expanded her responsibilities to include PAC compliance and other administrative functions which keep the Federation office running smoothly.
Lisa lives in Harrisburg, PA. with her husband and has two grown children. Lisa enjoys spending time with family, gardening, and quilting.
